Hey Gar Bear, do we know this guy? https://twitter.com/elonmusk He says his location is Hell. I don't remember ever letting him in. Personally, I don't he's Hell material. I don't like the cut of his jib. Well, I'll defer to you. If you want me to bounce him for you, I will. Send him up to Evangelical Heavin; then he'll really know Hell. Or, we could just pack him a bag and send him on this trip: https://woe-industries.itch.io/you-have-not-died-of-dysentery
It is so good to hear that a seasoned writer like you sometimes find it hard to write or get started writing your books. I am attempting to birth my first book and it is maddening! My bedroom wall looks like one of those detectives boards when they are trying to find a serial killer.
I can see my characters too so clearly I feel I have brought them to life and I swear I see them on the streets out and about. The thing that is the most frustrating is I can’t write fast enough to keep up with my brain. I have so many thought on how the story should progress and then the character whispers in my ear that they wouldn’t do whatever it is I am having them do!
Writing for me equates to insanity or maybe keeping my self sane. In the end when this book is published I want my readers to feel it not just read it because I put my soul into this baby!
Please keep us updated on your progress. I am at p. 56 of my new novel, (started 2 months ago) and it's excruciating! Knowing that you - of all writers - can struggle too and that you've had to toss 500+ pages in the past give me a little bit of solace.
Hi Gary!! I am a huge fan of yours! Me and my partner recently started a new podcast "We Said, They Said" and would love to have you on as a guest (coincidentally we are actually talking to a New Yorker cartoonist this week as we love your New Yorker contributions). Please let me know if this is a possibility and if there are any questions.
I've written two pages of my next novel.
Thank you for sharing your process. I am eager to be unbosomed.
Your headline confused me: I thought *I* would have to write two pages of your next novel.
Love the image of you and your character hanging out. Perhaps she drank your 14th drink?
Eat! You’ve got to keep up your strength!

I felt tempted to say "so, it's auto-biographical?"
But no, there should be no cheap jokes here, only support. Go Gary go!
I can't wait! Thank you for sharing this.
